Privacy Policy

This policy applies to Somurobo Numerology, operated by Ripunjay Prakash Bajpai (individual proprietor; may be operated by a registered business entity in the future, in which case this section will be updated accordingly). It explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

1. What data we collect

• Name and date of birth — needed to calculate your numbers/readings, whether or not you create an account.
• Email address — collected when you create an account, request a free reading, purchase a Detailed Report, recharge chat/locator credits, or unlock the Group Compatibility reading, so we can deliver results, receipts, and account access. Also collected for Jyotish Career & Life Prashna credit purchases and result delivery.
• Password (hashed, never stored in plain text) — only if you sign up with email/password rather than Google Sign-In.
• Google Sign-In data — if you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and a stable Google account identifier from Google's OAuth service, used solely to create/authenticate your account. We do not receive your Google password.
• Location, only if you grant it — browser geolocation (latitude/longitude) is used, with your explicit permission each time your browser prompts you, for: sorting the free curated temple list by distance, the paid live "Find Nearby Temple" Google Places search, and the optional GPS-based sunrise/sunset calculation for Muhurat/Choghadiya/Hora. A manual city selector is always available as an alternative and never requires location permission.
• Payment information — processed directly by Cashfree (India) or PayPal (international); we receive and store only the order status, amount, currency, and a gateway transaction reference, never your full card/bank/UPI details.
• Phone number — collected at checkout for Cashfree (India) payments only, as required by that gateway.
• Birth details for Jyotish Q&A — date of birth, birth time, and birth place are processed ephemerally for the single reading unless you explicitly opt in to store the answer. No birth details are added to payment metadata.
• Usage data — such as chat messages sent to the Numerology Guide chatbot (to provide the response and track your character allowance) and community poll votes (one per account per poll).

2. How we use your data

We use the data above solely to: calculate and deliver your readings/reports; operate your account; process payments and deliver the corresponding paid feature (report, chat credits, locator credits, or tool unlock); show relevant results (e.g. nearby temples, live poll results); send order confirmations and, if you opt in, account-related email notifications; and maintain basic site security and abuse prevention.

Optional daily rashifal browser notifications

Browser notifications are optional and permission is requested only after you press the enable button and choose a rashi. We store only your browser push subscription (endpoint and encryption keys) and selected rashi, without adding your name, birth details, account or phone number. A local delivery record uses a derived subscription hash and date for at-most-one send attempt per browser per day; it expires after three days. Anonymous daily sent/click totals are retained for 30 days. A signed notification click link counts at most once and opens the selected rashi page. Sent means accepted by the browser push service, not proof of delivery or reading.

Our server uses self-hosted VAPID keys and encrypted Web Push, with no paid notification provider. Your browser vendor's push service (such as Google, Mozilla, Apple or Microsoft) still transports the encrypted message and processes network information under its own policy. You can unsubscribe from the same button, the notification's stop action where supported, or your browser settings. Website unsubscribe deletes the subscription immediately; revoked/expired subscriptions are removed when the push service returns 404/410. If you disable permission only in browser settings, we may retain the subscription until that rejection is received. Support or deletion requests: [email protected].

Daily public status images contain calendar information or ancient public-domain verse with our own simple meaning and original graphics. They contain no user input. Generated daily images are retained for 30 days and then removed; the three indexable pages update in place. Share/download actions are initiated by you; we never send a WhatsApp message automatically.

3. Data retention

Account data (name, DOB, email, hashed password) is retained for as long as your account exists, or until you request deletion. Payment/order records are retained as required for accounting, fraud prevention, and legal compliance purposes even after a report is delivered or credits are used. Chat message history is retained to let you see your own conversation history in the dashboard, and can be cleared on request. Location data (latitude/longitude) is used only in-memory to compute distances or fetch results for that single request — it is not stored in our database.

4. We never sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for their marketing purposes. Data is shared only with the service providers strictly necessary to operate the site: our payment gateways (Cashfree, PayPal) to process payments, our email provider to deliver receipts/notifications, and Google (for Sign-In authentication and, for the paid Live Search feature, the Google Places API to find nearby temples using the coordinates you provide for that specific search).

5. Cookies

We use essential, first-party cookies to keep you signed in (account sessions) and to identify your chat wallet if you use the chatbot without an account. We also use Google Analytics to understand aggregate site usage. We do not sell your data to advertisers; ad cookies set by Google are explained in section 6.

6. Advertising (Google AdSense) / विज्ञापन

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
